Anriëtte van Rooyen is a South African actress best known for her starring role as Svetlana Bloem-Coetzee in the SABC2 mystery thriller mini-series Een Skoenlapper (One Butterfly), in 2002. It was her first major role.
Anriëtte grew up on a citrus farm in the Limpopo province, with her parents, brother and sister. She finished matric in 1996 in Pietersburg and went to study drama at the University of Pretoria.
Anriette finished her degree (BA drama) in 1999 at UP and has since completed her honours degree, also in drama.
She has played small parts in Isidingo, Generations and Jozi Streets and played the lead in Een Skoenlapper in 2002.
She focussed mainly on theatre in the past and completed a run at the Market Theatre with Full Circle - a prayer written by Kobus Moolman and directed by Charmaine Weir-Smith.
Other theatre productions she has acted in include Absurd Person Singular, Siener In die Suburbs, Tragic Ladies, Oor die Berge and Full Circle.
She was also a guest presenter on the magazine show Pasella and has appeared in numerous other television shows including Skotteljons, Egoli, Rhythm City and Binnelanders.
Anriette is married and lives with her husband in Pretoria. They love the outdoors, hiking and rock climbing.
