Lives in: Cape Town
Age: 25
Rejane is twenty five years old and is from Cape Town. She started out as a radio journalist but is now a radio producer. Rejane lives with her girlfriend, Zimasa Bongeza in a flat in Woodstock, an area which Rejane describes as “the home of the fringe”.
Rejane enjoys funky music, interesting and quirky folks, flirting, deep conversations, relaxed atmospheres, funky haircuts and shaven heads, coffee and driving. She’s addicted to chocolate, splashing her face with cold water and kissing.
In her recreational time she spends time with her girlfriend and family, goes to parties, runs, hikes, writes poetry and short stories and reads. Her favourite movie is Spike Lee’s “She Hate Me” and her favourite CD is India Irie’s “Voyage To India”.
Her dislikes are ants, visible pollution, stress, pressure, instability, old food and anything oily. Her philosophy is to defy all stereotypes – always.
Her motto is: live outta the box – break outta the box.
“My greatest achievement so far has been succeeding in my job – the media industry is tough and right now I’m where I want to be – I’m madly proud of that achievement. My most prized possession is my freedom and my life.
“I hope one day to start my own radio production company. I entered Fear Factor because my little brother dared me to enter and I love seeing him proud of me. I believe I’m able to close my eyes and face anything ahead. I don’t have a game-plan but when I put my mind to it - I can conquer anything!
“I can detach quite easily if my survival depends on it. In preparation for the show I shaved my head, put on my GI Jane boots and psyched myself up to kick some butt. The bravest thing I’ve ever done is donate blood and rescue someone from the scene of a car accident – she was unconscious and almost drowned in her own blood.
“I also jumped out of a burning building. I handle tension by stretching, screaming or eating. My lucky talisman is my pink push up bra.
"If I could take anything with me it would be my hot water bottle – I can’t stand being cold at night. If I win I’ll send two kids from a disadvantaged community for a short vacation anywhere overseas as it’s so empowering to travel.
I have been blessed to be able to travel with my job and would like to spread it, but on what I earn it’s not possible!”
