Lela Rochon is an American actress of Haitian descent who is best known for her role as Robin Stokes in the 1995 movie Waiting to Exhale.
In television, she has guest starred in numerous productions including The Cosby Show, 21 Jump Street, 227, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, Tales From The Crypt, The Sinbad Show, Hangin' with Mr. Cooper, The Outer Limits and The Division.
Other films she has appeared in include Harlem Nights (1989), Boomerang (1992), The Chamber (1996), Gang Related (1997), The Big Hit (1998), Knock Off (1998), Any Given Sunday (1999), Labor Pains (2000) and First Daughter (2004).
Rochon has also appeared in the made-for-TV movies A Bunny's Tale (1985), Into the Homeland (1987), Extralarge: Black and White (1991), Mr. & Mrs. Loving (1996), Ruby Bridges (1998), and The Charlotte Austin Story (1999).
From 1984-1987 she was married to breakdancer Adolfo Quinones. The two met on the film set of Breakin' and Breakin' 2: Electric Boogaloo.
In 1998, she and director Antoine Fuqua were engaged and they married on 9 April 1999. After a miscarriage, daughter Asia Rochon Fuqua was born on 28 July 2002, followed by son Brando in May 2004.
