Tshepo Ngwane was a South African actor and television presenter best known for his roles as Thiza in Yizo Yizo, as Mdu Sibiya in Zone 14 and as the host of the reality show RiZe Mzansi, all of which aired on SABC1.
Ngwane was born in Ermelo in Mphumalanga in 1976. He matriculated from Ziphakamiseni High School in Newcastle, KZN and in 1995 moved to Johannesburg where he lived with his father in Soweto.
He had always wanted to study Dramatic Arts, but his father never considered it a career. Hence in 1998 Tshepo went on to receive his National Diploma in Retail Management from Wits Technikon.
Deep down his passion for acting still continued, so along the way he did a crash course with well known actress Lillian Dube.
In 2001 he received a six-month contract with Backstage when it was still filmed in Cape Town, playing the role of Mandla.
Finally he got his big break in the ground-breaking series Yizo Yizo and ultimately starred in all three seasons.
In 2005 he landed the leading role of Mdu Sibiya in the soccer drama Zone 14 and in 2006 he played the role of Kojak, a drug dealer, in the drama series Tshisa, which also aired on SABC1.
He was also involved with industrial theatre and corporate gigs and was also the presenter of the business reality show RiZe Mzansi in 2007.
Other television series he has acted in include Snitch, Jozi Streets, Brothers in Law, Interrogation Room, Sofa Silahlane and Silent Witness.
Tshepo also acted in the feature films Jerusalema and Finding Lenny.
He died of a stomach ulcer on Tuesday, 27 October 2015 at the Bheki Mlangeni Hospital in Soweto. He was 39.
