William Gaminara is a Zambian-born English actor and screenwriter best known for his starring role as pathologist Professor Leo Dalton on the police procedural television series Silent Witness, from 2002-2013.
His television highlights include Attachments, The Law, Hope and Glory and Dangerfield. He also starred with Helena Bonham Carter in A Dark Adapted Eye.
His voice is instantly recognisable to fans of The Archers, in which he played Dr Richard Locke.
Gaminara is an accomplished writer, whose work includes episodes of This Life and The Lakes. He also plays blues harmonica and the guitar in Rich Pickings.
William is married to actress Kate Lock and they have two sons.
