Marisol Nichols is an American actress best known for her lead roles as Detective Karen Bettancourt in the cop drama Blind Justice, as lawyer Sonya Quintano in the 2006 criminal drama series In Justice and as Special Agent Nadia Yassir in the sixth season of 24.
She also starred in the short-lived television series The Gates (2010) and GCB, in 2012.
Other television credits include her role as Victoria Santiago on Showtime's Resurrection Boulevard, and numerous guest appearances on such series as Friends, Alias, Nip/Tuck, CSI, Law & Order SVU, ER and Cold Case.
She has appeared in three television movies, including NBC's Homeland Security, The Princess and the Barrio Boy for Showtime and The Princess and the Marine, in which she portrayed Princess Meriam Al-Kalifa, who fled her own country for love.
Nichols received a Golden Eagle Award for Most Promising Actor or Actress as well an ALMA nomination for Outstanding Actress for her portrayal of Princess Meriam in the 2001 made-for-TV movie The Princess and the marine.
In 2007 she received an Alma Awards nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress - television series, mini-series or TV movie for her role as Nadia Yassir on 24.
Her big screen film credits include Vegas Vacation, Bowfinger, Disney's Mafia, Can't Hardly Wait, Scream 2, Big Momma's House 2 and Delta Farce.
Nichols is a volunteer supervisor and spokesperson for Criminon, an international, non-profit organisation which addresses the cause of criminality and seeks to rehabilitate inmates.
Originally from the Chicago area, Nichols currently resides in Los Angeles.
