Bio
Thomas Gibson is an American actor best known for his television roles as Dr. Danny Nyland in Chicago Hope (1994-1997), as Gregory Clifford Montgomery in Dharma & Greg (1997-2002) and as Agent Aaron "Hotch" Hotchner, the head of the BAU team, in Criminal Minds.
His other television credits include the movies Raising Waylon, The Inheritance, Brush with Fate, Tales of the City, More Tales of the City, Evil Never Dies, A Will of Their Own and The Lost Empire; and the mini-series Category 6: Day of Destruction and The Kennedys of Massachusetts.
Gibson made his feature film debut with a starring role in the epic Far and Away and has since appeared in Eyes Wide Shut, The Age of Innocence, Barcelona, Love and Human Remains, Sleep with Me, Psycho Beach Party, Jack the Dog and Stardom.
He graduated from Julliard and made his New York stage debut in A Map of the World at the New York Shakespeare Festival.
His additional theatre work includes leading roles at Circle in the Square and Joseph Papp's Shakespeare in the Park. He worked on and off Broadway for more than 10 years in a wide variety of roles.
Gibson lives in San Antonio with his wife Christine and three children.
