Bio
Ryan Reynolds is a Canadian actor best known for his role as Berg in the television sitcom Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place (1998–2001), before establishing a career as a Hollywood motion picture actor, starring in both comedic and dramatic roles.
Born the youngest of four children, Ryan's father was a Vancouver food wholesaler and his mom was a retail-store saleswoman.
His first TV experience was the filming of Hillside (also known as Fifteen) in 1990 in Florida. When the series ended, Ryan returned to Vancouver where he had parts in made-for-TV movies.
By 1996 he had decided to quit acting, but upon meeting a fellow young actor, Chris Martin, they decided to pack everything up and move to Los Angeles.
They saved money by staying in a cheap hotel, however, luck was not on their side and the first night there Ryan's jeep was stripped; he drove it around without doors for 4 months after the incident.
In 1997 he landed the role of Berg in Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place - the first season was not a runaway success, but it was given the opportunity of a second season, with some life being injected by Roseanne writer, Kevin Abbott.
This improvement gave the show some minor success and led to further film roles for Ryan.
He played in the last ever MGM made movie, a remake of The Amityville Horror in 2005.
He began dating Alanis Morisette in 2002. In honour of their one-year anniversary Alanis and Ryan wore matching rings on their fourth fingers of their right hands. They became engaged in June 2004, after dating for 2 years. They called off their engagement in February 2007.
