Bio
Jorge Garcia is an American actor and comedian best known for his starring role as Hugo "Hurley" Reyes in the cult science fiction television series Lost, from 2004-2010.
He also starred as famed Alcatraz historian and book author Dr. Diego "Doc" Soto, who owns a comic book store and draws his own comics, in the short-lived science fiction television series Alcatraz, in 2012.
He first came to public attention with his performance as Hector Lopez on the sitcom Becker, from 2003-2004.
Garcia first realised that acting might be his forte when he played a villain in his school's seventh grade musical production. After graduating from UCLA, Garcia joined the Beverly Hills Playhouse and has been working steadily ever since.
His television credits include being a series regular on Becker, as well as guest stints on Curb Your Enthusiasm, Spin City, How I Met Your Mother, Fringe and Mr. Sunshine.
In 2006 Garcia received an NCLR Alma Award for his work on Lost, and in 2007 he was nominated once again, as well as being nominated for an Imagen Foundation Award.
Garcia appeared in the comedy Deck the Halls, opposite Matthew Broderick, Danny DeVito, Kristin Chenowith and Kristin Davis. His other film credits include the independent films The Good Humor Man, opposite Kelsey Grammer, Little Athens and Sweetzer.
He has performed on various L.A. stages as a standup comedian, as well as in productions of The Midnight Zone, Something Borrowed Something Blue and Romancing Valentino.
A native of San Juan Capistrano, California, Garcia resides in Los Angeles.
