Bio
Lele Ledwaba is a South African actress best known for her role as Pinkie on the SABC2 sitcom Stokvel, from 2003-2012.
She also starred as Diksie Lebone, the streetwise girl from wrong side of the tracks and loving wife of Khumo Lebone (Nathaniel Ramabulana), in the M-Net soap opera The Wild, from 2011-2013.
She is also known for her role as Innocentia "Inno" Phemba, a man-eating minor celebrity living the jet-set lifestyle, in the SABC1 drama series Society, since 2007.
Ledwaba trained in Natal and started her career acting in Durban. Early theatre productions include South Pacific, Threepenny Opera, Athol Fugard's The Road to Mecca, King Lear, Sophiatown, Hello and Goodbye, and The Boys from Syracuse.
Later she moved to Johannesburg where she played in Bozzoli ... Like Pantsula like Mshoza at Johannesburg's Market Theatre.
On breaking into television she appeared in the series Secret in my Bosom for Thapama Prods, Lotus Dreaming for The Glee Machine and Phamokate for Scholtz Films before winning a lead in the sitcom series Stokvel for Penguin films.
In 2006 she shot a comedy series entitled Fela's TV and another 13 episodes of Stokvel. She also featured in a drama for Southern Exposure called Justice For All.
In 2007 she played the role of Inno in Society, which at the time was a four-part mini-series (it later became a full-fledged series beginning with Season 2, which premiered on SABC1 on 27 October, 2009.
She also played the role of Palesa in the SABC3 dramedy series For Sale.
Lele is highly experienced in industrial theatre and corporate theatre. She dances and speaks English and South Sotho.
