Bio
Dave Pepler made his first appearance on the nature TV show Groen on 5 January 2004 and has been the presenter ever since. Each week he records a programme in a new environment and gives viewers an up-close and personal expeience of nature. His travels have included trips through Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Zanzibar and South Africa.
Dave was born in Robertson in the Western Cape and got to know nature when his grandfather Boy le Roux encouraged him to explore the veld as a youngster which became part of his existence.
He matriculated at Robertson High, after which he studied Forestry at Saasveld. He received an M.Phil in Animal Science from Cambridge University. Up until his retirement in 2005, he was a senior lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch' Department of Environmental Ecology.
He is still involved at the CIB (Centre for Invasive Biology) in the US and still lectures. He also operates as environmental consultant to Africa, Chile, Tanzania and Uganda. He writes articles for VISI and INSIG on a regular basis.
