Bio
Jürgen Hellberg is a South African actor best known for his role as Kitte Muller on the M-Net soapie Binnelanders, from 2005-2008.
In 1972, he was a member of the Drakensberg Boys' Choir, and from the '80s through the '90s, stage work provided his bread and butter. Jurgen got bored with this and began to spend time on screenwriting, music and direction.
Dissatisfied, he began writing scripts for the roles he wanted to play and these included Blind Dog Fourie and Helena of Troyeville.
In 2000, Jürgen and his wife Shireen (a former member of vocal troupe Cutt Glass) formed Flying Pigs, a corporate theatre group focusing on industrial theatre, corporate entertainment and brand communication.
Deciding to take the role in Binnelanders was a choice made because the acting bug bit Jürgen again after years of writing and direction; also, as Jürgen says, most of the cast are old friends and it's such a pleasure to work with them again.
When Jürgen is not working, he loves to spend his time in the kitchen with his wife and daughter, Tessa, as well as in front of the TV watching a great sports match.
His birthday is 5 April.
