As one of Hollywood busiest actors, Collins' film credits include a role in Terrence Malick's feature Knight of Cups, opposite Christian Bale; the sci-fi Warner Brothers/Legendary Films feature, Pacific Rim, directed by Guillermo Del Toro and co-starring Charlie Hunnam, Idris Elba and Charlie Day; and the Taylor Hackford-directed feature Parker, opposite Jason Statham and Jennifer Lopez.

Even at the beginning of his career Collins found himself working with some of the brightest young filmmakers, including in the Hughes Brothers' Menace to Society and Dead Presidents, John Singleton's Poetic Justice, Kevin Reynolds' 187, Antoine Fuqua's The Replacement Killers, Still Waters and the award-winning independent film Little Chenier.
No stranger to the small screen, in 2010 Collins shot a starring role in NBC's drama The Event, an emotional, high-octane conspiracy thriller. He received an Emmy nomination for his role in the miniseries Thief, opposite Andre Braugher, and recurred on such other series as 24, The Shield and Alias.
Collins directed the video for Zac Brown Band's single, Chicken Fried, as well as the music videos for the Zac Brown Band follow up single, Whatever It Is, and Jamey Johnson's High Cost of Living.
