Bio
Charlton George is a South African actor best known for his starring role as Virgil Cloete in the kykNET drama series Sara se Geheim.
He appeared in the 1997 made-for-video production of The Visual Bible: Matthew and made his television debut in the German series Entscheidung Auf Mauritius, which was filmed on location in South Africa and Mauritius. He also starred in the award-winning South African feature film Shooting Bokkie in 2003, as The Filmmaker.
Charlton has acted in numerous television series including a two-year stint as Basil Jafta on the SABC3 soapie Isidingo, from 2000-2001. Other shows he has guest starred in include Onder Engele, Molo Fish, Samaritaan, Going Up Again, Orion, Shooting Stars, Khululeka, Vloeksteen, When We Were Black and more.
In 2016 he had a recurring role as Richy Rich in the kykNET crime drama series Die Byl, inspired by legendary South African detective Piet Byleveld, who caught some of the country's most heinous murderers.
The following year he guest starred in the second season of the kykNET crime anthology series Die Boland Moorde (The Boland Murders), appearing in Season 2, Episode 3 (which aired on 28 February, 2017).
Also in 2017, Charlton landed starring roles in two kykNET dramas: Sara se Geheim (Sara's Secret) and Waterfront. He returned to Sara se Geheim in 2018 for the second season.
In May 2018 he began a starring role in the SABC2 comedy series Die Vlieënde Springbokkie (The Flying Springbok), which follows a group of mismatched South Africans stuck on a spaceship in 2068, on a quest to find a new planet.
