Bio
Dr. Billy Cohn, M.D., who has been a Cardiothoracic Surgeon since the early nineties, is Director of Minimally Invasive Surgical Technology and Co-Director of the Cullen Cardiovascular Research Lab at the famed Texas Heart Institute at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital in Houston, Texas.
He is best known to television audiences as one of the elite team of doctors on the reality series Miracle Workers.
He has over 30 patents for medical devices, several of which have revolutionized heart surgery techniques. He invented the Cohn Cardiac Stabilizer which allows surgeons to perform bypass surgery on a beating heart.
A graduate of Oberlin College in Oberlin, OH, and of the Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, he served on the faculty of Harvard Medical School for 11 years as an Associate Professor, before returning to The Texas Medical Center.
