Kimberly Elise is an American actress best known for her roles as Tisean 'T.T.' Williams in the 1997 movie Set It Off; as the title character in the made-for-TV movie The Loretta Claiborne Story (2000); and as prosecutor Maureen Scofield in the television crime drama Close to Home, from 2005-2007.
She also has a starring role as Sloane Hayes, once a talented dancer and a Devil Girl who is determined that her beloved daughter Ahsha follow a different path, in the VH1 drama series Hit the Floor.
Elise is also known for her roles in the films Beloved (1998), John Q (2002), Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005) and The Manchurian Candidate (2004).
Other films she has appeared in include Woman Thou Art Loosed (2004), Bait (2000), and Pride (2007).
She has appeared in the made-for-TV movies The Ditchdigger's Daughters (1997), The Loretta Claiborne Story (2000) and Bojangles (2001).
Elise has made guest appearances in the television shows In The House, The Sentinel, The Twilight Zone, Girlfriends, and Soul Food.
Elise was married to stills photographer Maurice Oldham from 1989-2005. The couple had two children - AjaBleu and Butterfly.
She was born in Minneapolis and lives in Los Angeles.
