Mary Beth Evans is an American actress best known for her role as Kayla Brady Deveraux Johnson on the soap opera Days Of Our Lives, from July 1986 to May 1992. Her character became half of the supercouple Steve and Kayla.
On June 12, 2006, Evans returned to Days Of Our Lives as Kayla after a 14-year absence. She continues to play the role to the present day.
Before her first turn on Days, Evans had guest appearances on a number of television shows, including Riptide, Remington Steele, and Knight Rider.
Once she left Days in 1992, Evans had a guest role in Murder, She Wrote before landing the role of Katherine Bell Ashton on the soapie General Hospital, from 1993-1999.
She played the same role in the spin-off series Port Charles from 1997-1999.
Once the two soaps ended she had a lean spell on screen, with only one minor role (as Receptionist in the 2001 movie American Coffee) in five years.
In 2004 she landed a part on yet another soapie, As The World Turns, which she played in 68 episodes until 2006.
Once that ended she rejoined Days Of Our Lives.
