Bio
Leeanda Reddy is a South African actress best known for her role as political reporter Vanashree Devan in the e.tv soapie Scandal!, from 2005-2006.
Reddy holds an honours degree in speech and drama from the University of Natal in Durban.
She has since performed in a host of productions at the Durban Playhouse and other venues around South Africa and in the year 2000 was invited by the ICCR to perform at the International Theatre Festival in New Delhi, India.
Leeanda’s stage credits include the role of Titania in Pieter Scholtz’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Viola in Ralph Lawson’s Twelfth Night and Lady Macbeth in Stephen Gurney’s Macbeth.
Other roles include leads in Michael McAloney’s Shaken or Stirred, Sir? and Ronnie Govender’s one woman show At the Edge in which she played 30 different characters.
She has received FNB Vita Award Nominations for Best Lead Actress in Twelfth Night (2000) and for Beyond Calvary (1999).
Leeanda has made appearances in the television series Snitch and Zero Tolerance. After playing a lead in several seasons of the e.tv soapie Backstage she landed the role of Vanashree in Scandal!.
In August 2007 she was cast as Detective Inspector Priyanka Naicker in the SABC3 soapie Isidingo, making her first appearance on Monday 29 October, 2007.
