Profession
Involved in a Production called Swii Art. Was a backup artist for Xolani Faku.
Why do you want to sing Gospel?
To change from some of the things that I used to do, like drinking, smoking and spending time in the taverns. It’s been two months since I have stopped.
Who is your favourite Gospel local artist?
Sfiso.
What will you do with the R100,000 if you win?
I will invest it to further studies at Rhodes University. I would like to study Film and Production.
What will be different with your album if you win the recording album?
I will make Gospel album with a fusion of jazz and a touch of African flavour.
What don’t people know about you?
When I am sad I pretend to be happy when I am really hurting inside.
Who inspires you?
My grandmother - she always supports and pays for my clothes, but not alcohol.
What has been your most difficult thing you had to overcome?
When my father lost his job when I was in at Matric. I was hoping to go to University, but I ended up with a learnership sponsored by VW community trust for Dance at Rhodes University.
Who/what makes you happy?
I make myself happy and sing until the pain goes away.
What’s your favourite meal?
Rice, potatoes mixed with carrots and meat.
If you had to send a message to Lindelani what would it be?
"Dear Mr. Mkhize, I gave you my talent, I won’t be hurt if you decide to let me go, but if you keep me I will impress you so don’t lose hope in me."
What’s your message to your soon to be fans?
"I want to plough back what I have learnt. I will teach one person to open the doors for others."
