Bio
Sphumelele Mbambo is a South African singer best known as one of the Top 30 contestants on the SABC2 reality television competition I Want to Sing Gospel, in 2008. She came fourth in the competition.
She is from Durban.
When the show first premiered Sphumelele used her first name Ntokozo. During the show she changed it to become known as Sphumelele to avoid confusion with her gospel star namesake Ntokozo Mbambo, who is also signed to Lindelani Mkhize.

Why do you want to sing Gospel?
It is the talent I have that I am good at.
Who is your favourite Gospel local artist?
Rebecca Malope.
What will you do with the R100,000 if you win?
I would help at home, as I am from a poor background - the money can make a difference at church and improve my life.
What will be different that you want to bring if you win the recording album?
My voice is powerful, I know it can heal and touch people.
What don’t people know about you?
I hate seeing people in pain or hurt.
Who inspires you?
It’s God.
What has been your most difficult thing you had to overcome?
I had a child and separated with the father because of music. He was happy at first and supporting me and buying anything I needed and later changed and he left saying that my music is my future husband...he was my soulmate.
Who/what makes you happy?
This competition makes me happy, it can make my dreams come true.
What’s your favourite meal?
Chicken and rice.
