Bio
Michael Schulson is an American chef and television personality best known as the host of the Style Network cooking series Pantry Raid, since 2007.
In the series Michael puts his knowledge to the test to help the cooking-challenged become gourmet chefs and change the way people think about preparing food.
Michael began honing his culinary skills during his childhood in Long Island, New York. He attended the Culinary Institute of America and interned at the Park Avenue Cafe under culinary legend David Burke.
Upon graduation, he worked with premier chefs including New York City’s Peacock Alley in the Waldorf Astoria under Chef John Doherty and Laurent Manrique and Philadelphia’s 5-Star Le Bec Fin.
After many years of cooking in the United States, he decided to further refine his Asian culinary palette and went abroad to work at The Four Seasons Hotel in Tokyo as well as Spago. While in Asia, he also participated in the renowned Chang Mai cooking school in Thailand.
In 2006, after extensive experience working with top chefs, Michael realised he was ready for the challenge of his lifetime and opened the highly anticipated Asian restaurant Buddakan NYC as the Executive Chef.
Michael has been featured on the cover of FoodArts Magazine, Nation’s Restaurant News and Restaurant Hospitality. His present work includes projects with Martha Stewart, and he has been a monthly contributor for cooking segments on The Martha Stewart Show.
He has also appeared as a regular cooking guest on The Today Show.
