Bio
Samuel Seabi (also known as Taekwondo) is a South African dancer best known as one of the Top 20 contestants on the SABC1 reality television competition So You Think You Can Dance, in 2008.
He is from Johannesburg.
Your profession:
A theatrical performer! I love musicals. I also act and sing.
Your dance history/experience:
I’ve been dancing as long as I can remember but I didn’t think I would become a professional dancer because I thought dance wasn’t for me. I wanted to become an orthopedic surgeon! I run a dance school called O.B.F (One Big Family)
Your favourite dance genre:
I love dance at large! But I would have to go for my own style called ‘ACRO’. Acro is a fusion of different dance genres and styles. It has elements of break dance, pantsula, karate, jazz and gymnastics.
What will you do with the R250 000 if you win?
I really want my own house - I’ve been renting for 5 years and I feel like it’s time I owned my own place now.
What will you bring to the competition that's different?
Like I said I have invented my own style already that’s something.
What’s your message for your soon-to-be fans?
I would like to tell them that there is rising star coming from the East, with a new flavour of dance style and I won’t disappoint as long as they keep on voting for me!
