Demi Lovato is an American actress, singer and songwriter best known for her role as Mitchie Torres in the Disney Channel Original Movie Camp Rock, in 2008.
She joined the reality singing competition The X Factor USA in 2012 as a permanent judge.
The Dallas-bred Lovato started in show business at the age of 7 and rose quickly. By the time she was 15, she was a bona fide TV star (Barney & Friends, Sonny With a Chance) cultivating a promising singing and acting career with standout roles in the Camp Rock movies and as the star of the 2009 film, Princess Protection Program.
In the late 2000s, while maintaining a rigorous TV and film shooting schedule, Lovato released two successful solo albums: Don't Forget (2008), which debuted at No. 2 on The Billboard 200, and Here We Go Again (2009), which bowed at No. 1.
Her album Unbroken spawned two platinum singles: Skyscraper, which received an MTV VMA for "Best Video with a Message," and her #1 smash hit, Give Your Heart a Break.
