Bio
Fran Kranz is an American actor best known for his starring role as brilliant scientist Topher Brink in the science fiction television series Dollhouse, from 2009-2010.
He is also known for his leading role as Josh Flug, a one-time Hollywood hotshot, in the short-lived television sitcom Welcome to the Captain, in 2008.
A graduate of Yale University, Kranz has acted in a number of feature films including The Night of the White Pants, Don't Fade Away, Shades of Ray, Wieners, Careless, Bickford Schmeckler's Cool Ideas, Rise: Blood Hunter, The Village, Matchstick Men, Orange County, Training Day and Donnie Darko.
He also has extensive theatre credits including Twelfth Night, Angels in America, A Bright Room Called Day, Henry IV Part I, Sideman, Antony & Cleopatra and The Dining Room. At a guest program at Oxford, he won Best Actor for his portrayal of Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew.
Fran has also made guest appearances on the television series Private Practice and Frasier.
Kranz currently resides in Los Angeles.
