Synopsis
Testees is a half-hour comedy about two best friends and roommates who work as test subjects for Testico, an experimental drug and product testing facility.
In each episode the guys, Peter (Steve Markle) and Ron (Jeff Kassel), are given a new product, experimental medication or treatment to test. The side effects from these are usually ridiculous and almost always negative.
The roommates just try to live their lives while waiting for the side effects from these untested products to wear off.
Peter and Ron are basically "man-children" – adolescents that just will not grow up. However, they both have distinct personalities and like most male friends strive for fame, fortune, and females.
A word from Kenny Hotz, creator of Testees:
"The reason for doing the show is cash. That's my only reason for doing anything, cold hard cash. I want my butler to drive his own Bentley. I want to be so rich I make P-Diddy look like mother Teresa.
"My inspiration for doing Testees is that I would probably be one myself if I never went into television. It's fun to have hot actresses screw you for a chance to be in your new show. It's also nice to see two other losers, besides me and Spenny, get tortured for a change.
"The idea for the show came to me when I was living in L.A. - flat broke, with no car, totally in debt, on the brink of suicide. The second the razor blade touched my wrist I began to smell sulfur.
"Then, up from the ground came a goat-headed man who claimed to be Lucifer. He told me if I gave him my soul for eternity, he in turn would give me the greatest idea for a sitcom ever created. I was like... already got one sucka! But I'll sell you one, for your soul.
"He agreed."
