The Fashion Show: Ultimate Collection (known simply as The Fashion Show in Season 1) is an American reality competition television series created by Eli Holzman and produced by 3 Ball Productions in which professional designers compete for a chance to have their designs be sold in retail markets, and for a $125,000 prize.
The contestants compete against each other to create the best clothes and are usually restricted in time, materials and theme. Their designs are judged and one or more designers are eliminated each week until one remains.
Designer Isaac Mizrahi shares hosting duties with performer and actress Kelly Rowland in Season 1; and with fashion icon Iman in Season 2. Senior Vice President of IMG Fashion, Fern Mallis, is also a judge in Season 1, being replaced in Season 2 by Harper's Bazaar's Laura Brown.
Each week the designers are put to the test and have to face off in two challenges – the Harper's Bazaar Mini Challenge, judged by the magazine's Special Projects Director Laura Brown, and the elimination challenge.
In the end, America will choose which contestant will have a clothing line available for retail and win the $125,000 prize.
