Synopsis
The Making Of provides insight into the full story behind the careers of the country's most successful and respected groups, artists, entrepreneurs and more.
In short, the series offers full, never-before-seen biographical accounts of some of the biggest names in South African entertainment, with the input of friends, managers, peers and family members only adding to the impact of each episode.
The first episode sees TKZee under the spotlight – the group has a lineage that few contemporary acts can match: as much Kwaito innovators as music risk-takers; as much powerful solo creative forces as they are a group, TKZee continue to fascinate a full 13 years after they first shot to prominence with hits like Palafala and Shibobo.
The Making Of takes this influential act right back to the beginning and tracks the sometimes rocky, often extraordinary journey undertaken by Tokollo Tshabalala, Kabelo Mabalane and Zwai Bala since then.
It also doesn't shy away from the challenges the group's members have faced – including Kabelo's drug addiction and transformation into a role-model.
