Gospel Classics is a South African religious music programme produced by attv which features renowned gospel artists who choose and perform gospel classics of the 21st century, from both local and international artists. Two artists perform each week, with the first singing a classic song and the second a classic hymn.
Gospel Classics takes viewers down memory lane, showcasing the all-time gospel classic hits, is presented by actor Tshepo Maseko (the first season was hosted by entertainer and breakfast show DJ Linda Sibiya and Bongani Nchang, co-founder of the award-winning group Malaika).
Every Sunday the show features renowned gospel artists who choose and perform gospel classic songs of the 21st century, from both local and international artists of yesteryear.
Two artists perform each week, with the first one singing a classic song and the second a classic hymn.
The artists share their memorable events and personal stories in relation to their chosen Gospel Classic songs and hymns, followed by studio interviews.
Gospel Classics also features an entertainment slot called "What If", which gives the show an added element of fun which allows the audience to see some of their favourite celebrities perform jobs that are far from reality, shot on location.
The celebrities featured on the "What If" slot include Theo Kgosinkwe, Seputla Sebogodi and the Mahotella Queens.
Each episode ends on a high note with Pastor Zondo (Thuso Motaung in Season 2) giving a musical Power Moment motivation backed up by the Gospel Classic's band performance.
