Notting Hill is a 1999 feature film directed by Roger Michell.
A world famous actress. A clumsy bookshop owner. When the two meet in London's celebrated Notting Hill, sparks fly and romance is in the air.
Ann Scott, a Hollywood star, is in England promoting her latest blockbuster. Whilst she has all the trappings of success, she sometimes yearns to be just a normal person.
William Thacker is a charming but shy English bookshop owner. Both their lives are turned upside down though when Ann walks into his shop, on a break from the media attention surrounding her visit to England and her new film.
Having his head buried in books most of the time William isn't aware of Ann's fame and the two start up an uneasy kind relationship. It soon blossoms into something much bigger, but when you're dating the world's most famous movie star, nothing is simple, and it's certainly not easy.
