Mooiloop! is a South Africa lifestyle travel series produced by Blue Marble Entertainment which follows presenters Valiant Swart (Season 1 only) and Denvor Phokaners as they visit lesser known towns and villages across South Africa, introducing them to the stories and the people who call these places home.
South Africans are invited to follow presenter Denvor Phokaners (joined by Valiant Swart in Season 1) visiting lesser known towns and villages, introducing them to the stories and the people who call these places home.
We learn about the country's multicultural societies through the voices of local inhabitants.
Denvor served as a business mentor and judge in the award-winning reality competition Rize Mzansi, on SABC1, in 2010. He had a stint in acting, having appeared on SABC2's sketch comedy series Colour TV.
Each episode of Mooiloop! focuses on a variety of lifestyle elements, including some local cooking, adventure, tourism and local music. The presenters use unique modes of transport such as trains, boats, hot air balloons and "donkiekarre" to get to their destinations.
In each episode the show is graced by well-known guests with special links and interests in the specific destination.
Mooiloop! is unique in that it engages ordinary citizens of small towns as they take us through their day to day lifestyles, food and music. We visit towns that have never been fully experienced on television before, including Barrydale, Skeerpoort and Uniondale (Season 1) and Greyton, Bonnievale, Franschoek and Komatipoort (Season 2). The team visits Ceres, Agulhas, Napier and Bredasdorp in Season 3, among others.
The guest celebrities accompanying the team include Elouise Cupido, who takes us through Cullinan; actress Kim Cloete visiting Philadelphia; and Jacques Coetzer joining the presenters as they travel through Riebeek Kasteel.
The theme music was composed and performed by Valiant Swart. The director is Eugene Botha and the executive producers are Eugene Botha and Anna Teichert. The series is produced by Blue Marble Entertainment.
