Out of Exile is a South African documentary series that looks at two powerful weapons in the war against apartheid: the camera and the fierce passion of women.
The series premiered on SABC3 at 21h30 on 12 July, 2006. There are four hour-long episodes in the series.
Synopsis
Up until June 1976 the struggle against apartheid was mostly a domestic affair.
The events that followed the Soweto student's uprising put this crime against humanity firmly on the global agenda and included many strategies to make the world sit up and take notice of the war happening in South Africa.
At the heart of these tactics was the drive to take the story out into the world...
