Not to be confused with Blue Planet, the 1990 IMAX special about space, The Blue Planet is the most comprehensive, spectacular documentary ever made about the oceans that cover our planet and the creatures that live in them.
Narrated by David Attenborough and produced by Discovery Channel and the BBC Natural History Unit, the multiple award-winning documentary was first aired in the UK on September 12 2001 - the day after the terror attacks in New York.
It set a brand new standard for underwater photography and captured a multitude of wildlife never before captured on film.
Each of the episodes is 50 minutes in length. They are:
1. The Blue Planet
2. Frozen Seas
3. Open Ocean
4. The Deep
5. Seasonal Seas
6. Coral Seas
7. Tidal Seas
8. Coasts
