Will & Grace is an American television sitcom created by David Kohan and Max Mutchnick which takes place in New York City and focuses on Will Truman, a gay lawyer, and his best friend Grace Adler, a straight Jewish woman who runs her own interior design firm.
The series originally aired in the USA on NBC from 21 September, 1998 to 18 May, 2006. There are 194 half-hour episodes in eight seasons.
Will & Grace originally aired in South Africa on SABC3 from 4 June, 1999 to 26 February, 2007. It later aired on DStv's M-Net Series and Sony Entertainment Television (SONY) channels. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.
Season 7 premiered with a double bill on SONY on Friday 21 January 2011, at 19h30. New episodes broadcast in a double bill daily, on weekdays. There are 24 episodes in the seventh season.
Synopsis
Will Truman and Grace Adler are ex-sweethearts, on-again-off-again roommates and best friends.
Will is a gay lawyer who once dated Grace in high school until, with the help of Jack McFarland, he came out of the closet.
Since then the two have become best friends, relying on each other for help and support in their everyday lives. Which is not so everyday for the rest of us.
Grace is a Jewish interior designer who has been rumoured to turn straight guys gay, after two of her boyfriends came out of the closet after dating her.
They share their lives with two other kooky best friends. Jack McFarland, a gay wanna-be actor, and Karen Walker, a rich alcoholic socialite who works as Grace's assistant.
Their everyday antics cover issues relating to gay relationships, straight relationships and just about any relationship you can think of.
