The 4400 is an American science fiction television series created and written by Scott Peters and René Echevarria about a fictitious government agency called NTAC who investigate a group of 4400 people who make a sudden return to Earth, unaware of where they've been.
People disappearing without a trace is not entirely unusual, but what if some of them had been abducted by what appear to be aliens? And what if they suddenly came back?
The 4400 tells the story of 4400 people who have disappeared over the past 60 years and who have now returned, unaged and with paranormal abilities.
The series kicks off with a ball of light sailing toward Earth, but rather than the expected catastrophic event, thousands of returned abductees are left with no memory of their otherworldly experiences.
Each has been gone anywhere from a few months to several decades but hasn't aged a day.
Assigned to investigate the 4400 is Tom Baldwin, whose son Kyle was present at the abduction of Shawn Farrell, Tom's nephew, and has been in a coma ever since.
Joining him in the investigation is Diana Skouris, who develops an attachment to one of the youngest abductees.
