Kasi Living: Edladleni is a South African lifestyle magazine television series which presents opulent and envied township homes in South Africa which are owned by ordinary citizens who have style, passion for décor and are fortunate enough to have the means to turn their houses into palaces.
The show is presented by Siyabonga Radebe. In the homes featured on the show, Siya introduces the owners, their families and their neighbours. Viewers get a taste of their lifestyle and a peek inside the lavish homes that have emerged over the past few decades.
Townships, by origin, are defined as underdeveloped semi-urban living areas that were reserved for non-whites. They are usually built on the periphery of towns and largely occupied by the working class, comprising of blue collar workers.
However, the modern township is not as rigid, the look and feel has improved as class divisions have narrowed.
Townships featured in the series include Tembisa, Alexandra and Spruitview.
