Kwa Mamazala is a South African sitcom which revolves around family matriarch Sheila Madlala, who plays her sons and their wives off against each other, holding the promise of an inheritance over them.
Linda Sebezo plays Sheila, the Mamazala adored by her three adult sons: Vulingqondo (Michael Mabizela), Bheka (Zakhele Mabasa) and Thobani (Thokozani Nzima).
Sheila has a hold over her sons, who must vie for her favour as she owns a large house which one of them will inherit.
Thobani is the youngest and his mother's favourite and the wealthy middle son spends the least time with her but buys her the most lavish gifts.
The daughters in-law are played off against each other by Mamazala and are in favour one week and out of favour the next.
The wives - Matlakala (Tumi Maretele), Ngenzeni (Zinzile Zungu) and Charlotte (Shonisani Masutla) are forced to deal with a lot of stress thanks to their Mamazala.
The sons are only interested in a peaceful life, but this is hard to achieve as their wives do battle with their mother - and sometimes with each other.
To keep peace in the Madlala home and their marriages afloat, the daughters-in-law need to stay in their mother-in-law's good books – an extremely trying task, since Mamazala is not easy to please.
The series stars Linda Sebezo as Mam'Sheila, Michael Mabizela as Vuli, Tumi Maretele as Matlakala, Zakhele Mabasa as Bheka, Zinzile Zungu as Fairlady, Thokozani Nzima as Thobani, Shonisani Masutha as Charlotte and Treasure Tshabalala as Pastor Vic.
