Description

Play It to Break It is a South African television special produced by 9mm Film which is a recording of a live performance by South African industrial percussion group 1st Project.

Directed by Peter Heaney and filmed in front of a live audience at the Liberty Theatre on the Nelson Mandela Square, Play it to Break is a 60 minute special that aims at pushing the boundaries of audio and visual entertainment.

Play It to Break It was broadcast on M-Net on Monday, 18 December at 19h30.

Synopsis

Conceptualised by Shannon Ellinas, who's also a member of the group, the show combines energetic performances, nakes torsos and musical percussion using drums, matchboxes, cane sticks, junk and marimbas.
