Power Play is a 2002 feature film directed by Joseph Zito.
An energy crisis has hit the United States. A series of devastating earthquakes rock southern California.
Three volunteers for an environmental group mysteriously disappear, their mission – to find proof of a major electric company's alleged violation of environmental laws.
Is it coincidence, or are there larger forces at work?
When investigative reporter Matt Nash is assigned to write a perspective on the energy crisis, his instincts tell him the disappearance of the volunteers may prove to be the bigger headline.
At first, Matt's editor refuses to believe his theory, but after a few dangerous car chases through city streets, gunfights with mysterious assailants, and more aftershocks from the earthquakes, she's ready to put her faith in his search for the truth.
Matt learns first hand that someone is opposed to this and will do anything to prevent him from getting the real story - but who, and why?
