Synopsis
Guy Georges was suspected of torturing, raping and killing seven women between 1991 and 1997.
On March 27th 1998, French police, in the largest manhunt in French criminal history, picked up Georges - who was homeless at the time - in Montmartre after police matched his DNA to four murders and one attempted rape.
While in custody, he confessed to three more murders.
He was dubbed the Beast of Bastille due to the fact that several of his attacks occurred in the Bastille quarter, an east Parisian neighbourhood.
In 2001 he was sentenced to life imprisonment, without the possibility of parole for 22 years.
This programme reveals all about the Beast of the Bastille.
