Cobrizi is a South African television drama series which is a spin-off from the soapie The River following Cobra (Presley Chweneyagae), who unexpectedly finds love and after moving to inner-city Johannesburg.
The series sees Cobra attempting to do right by his youngest child by proving he is not a loser in a gritty, heart-wrenching and ultimately hopeful tale of survival, love and redemption.
However, Cobra's journey is anything but smooth.
He starts off as the same troubled, angry man from The River - a survivor whose only way out has been through theft and hustling.
His anger burns at the failed social system that's left him trapped in poverty, fueling his belief in radical change.
He is still drawn to his beer, women and taverns but even a man like Cobra can evolve... if life gives him a fighting chance.
Familiar faces from The River include Thapelo Sebogodi as Kabzela, Cobra's best friend and Winnie Ntshaba as MaMngadi.
They are joined by Thembsie Matu as Ous Sheila, Sivenathi Mabuya as Bongiwe, Paul Maila as Rajah, Ishmauel Songo as Peanut, Chrispen Nyathi as Raisin, Thobani Mbhele as Bangkok and Moliehi Didie Makobane as Teresia.
Other cast members include Siphiwe Radebe as Simphiwe, Kadia Banyini as Nkanyiso, Xolani Mfeka as Bab' Dladla and Charmaine Mncwabe as Ama.
In the series premiere: Cobra sets out to rewrite his story, but a shadow from his past returns.
As tensions explode, the residents and hijackers clash in a high-stakes showdown.
Cobrizi is produced by Tshedza Pictures.
