Synopsis
Welcome to the Pritikin Longevity Centre and Spa in Aventura, Florida where two overweight British families are battling to fight the fat.
Florida Fatbusters follows their daily development as they prepare to leave for Florida, sweat it out at the Centre, and stun friends on their return.
Surrounded by palm trees, clear blue skies and shimmering sunsets, the families are encouraged by doctors, dieticians, psychologists and physiologists to make a break with the past and put obesity behind them.
But it's not all fun and games - tears must be shed, as well as pounds.
From shopping for ingredients, to actually cooking the food, each episode demonstrates three healthy option dishes that can be followed by the viewer while getting to know the family members.
With varying emotions bordering on anger, guilt and shame, Florida Fatbusters carries a lot of emotional baggage as well as real pounds.
