Synopsis
Anthea Turner is the perfect housewife and the ultimate domestic goddess and she is setting out to try and re-educate Britain's self-confessed incompetent homemakers in Perfect Housewife.
In her stunning home, nothing is out of place and everything is perfectly organised. Every towel is artfully folded and every shoebox is clearly labelled. Anthea believes there is never an excuse for a chaotically-run house.
Each week on this light-hearted show, Anthea mentors two hopeless housewives. They visit Anthea's home for an intensive housewifery course, in which they are trained how to be a domestic goddess – Anthea style.
The two women then return to their homes with their new-found knowledge, to compete as this week's Best Housewife.
At the end of the show, not only are the women's homes scrutinised by Anthea, but each housewife must host an event of their choice and everything must look like it has come straight out of Desperate Housewives' Wisteria Lane.
Whether they choose a cocktail, dinner or children's party, it is a huge challenge for our housewives who know that unless their homes come straight from the pages of a glossy magazine and their parties are perfection, all their hard work will have been for nothing.
There are no excuses allowed: the housewives have to make running their house their top priority and each week Anthea crowns one of them as the Best Housewife.
Can Anthea help these women host the perfect party? Will Anthea's own domestic standards be far too high for these housewives to match?
Whatever the outcome, it's going to be a tough challenge to turn these struggling housewives into faultless domestic goddesses.
