Season 1
Flash! is a South African entertainment magazine show produced by Red Pepper Productions featuring news, gossip and footage of musicians, soap stars, sports stars, business people, red carpet events, premieres, one hit wonders and yesterday's heroes.
It was reinvented for its second season to have more of an emphasis on social network news with a perspective on South African celebrity culture, people, current events and the news of the day as it plays out through social media platforms.
The series premiered on SABC3 on Wednesday 1 April 2009, at 20h00. See "Seasons" below for seasonal broadcast dates and times.

Casting Change
Co-host Isabella de Villiers was replaced after 17 episodes of the first season by Rachel Stuart, who took over from Episode 18 on 29 July, 2009.
A new weekly insert was also introduced in Episode 18, called Flash Frame with Andy, in which Andy "The Admiral" Kasrils does a weekly movie round-up in studio with the presenters.

Note: episodes in the first season were an hour long, but were cut to 30 minutes for Season 2. The series is exclusive to SABC3.
