Lights Out is an American television drama series created by Justin Zackham which follows aging former world heavyweight champion Patrick "Lights" Leary - an extremely proud, good-hearted, Irish American who is struggling to find his identity and support his family after retiring from his beloved boxing.
The series aired in the USA on FX from 11 January to 5 April, 2011. There are 13 hour-long episodes in one season.
Lights Out premiered in South Africa on DStv's M-Net Series channel on Wednesday 18 January 2012, at 20h30. New episodes broadcast weekly.
Synopsis
Lights Out, from Executive Producer/Showrunner Warren Leight, stars Holt McCallany as Patrick "Lights" Leary, an aging former heavyweight boxing champion who struggles to find his identity and support his wife and three daughters after retiring from the ring.
The financial downturn coupled with a series of failed investments leave him at a perilous crossroads - battling the urge to return to boxing or reluctantly accepting a job as a brutal and intimidating debt collector.
Catherine McCormack co-stars as Theresa Leary, Lights' wife who is finishing her medical residency; Pablo Schreiber as Johnny Leary, Lights' brother and business manager; and Stacy Keach as Robert "Pops" Leary, Lights' father and former trainer who runs the boxing gym owned by Lights.
