Synopsis
The Wayans family dynasty continues as brothers Shawn and Marlon Wayans follow in the irreverent footsteps of their famous siblings in the gag-filled, physical comedy series The Wayans Bros.
Comedians Shawn and Marlon Wayans star as Shawn and Marlon Williams, two brothers with little more in common than their family name, the one-bedroom brownstone they share in New York City and an innate ability to disagree, disrupt and dis', in Warner Bros. Television's half-hour comedy The Wayans Bros.
Using a unique blend of classic physical comedy and hip 90s situation comedy, these brothers create high-energy, cut-loose humour like no one else. The series also stars John Witherspoon and Anna Maria Horsford.
At 24, Shawn is the older of the two brothers and is clearly Pops' favourite. Like his dad, Shawn's feet are firmly planted on the ground. As owner of the newsstand in the Neidermeyer Building, he is out to prove himself, and dreams of becoming a successful businessman.
He's also good-looking and knows his way around the world of dating. But suave as he may be, Shawn is looking for real love, not a conquest or flavor of the week.
One year younger and the baby of the family, Marlon is the other side of the coin. Marlon takes life as it comes, living for the moment and always looking for the easy way out. He's a mama's boy and demands a great deal of attention, especially when Pops is paying more attention to Shawn.
Despite the fact that these brothers are best friends, there is always that element of sibling rivalry between them. Shawn's patience is repeatedly put to the test, and often fails, when confronted by Marlon's irrepressible and often annoying ways.
Although he attempts to remain adult and somewhat removed, Shawn is forever getting sucked into Marlon's wild schemes and antics.
Pops (Witherspoon) is the owner and guiding force behind the diner that bears his name. Beloved by the local regulars and the occasional celebrity, Pops is the king of his own realm.
Energetic and strong-willed, Pops is not afraid to tell it like it is, and has no problems spreading his advice - whether the guys want it or not.
When it comes to security at the Neidermeyer Building, female security guard Dee Baxter (Horsford) has everything under control. Despite a strong presence in the building, she turns to mush at the very mention of spending time eating or watching soap operas.
Saddled with her meddling mother who moved in with her, Dee rules her domain with an iron fist and a very sharp tongue.
New friends, new love interests and an endless stream of eclectic New Yorkers make each day at the newsstand one hilarious adventure after another
