Season 1

Good Men is a South African legal drama television series about a brilliant and ruthless lawyer with a secret past who has his life turned upside down when he has to fight for the freedom of an underprivileged boy.

Two men come into direct opposition and from different backgrounds - a stark contrast from Fourways to Cosmo City to the courts.

Zola (Tabile Tau) is 17, a maths genius with a temper in his matric year who is accused of murder.

Jama (Pallance Dladla) is a brilliant, ruthless, materialistic criminal lawyer whose life takes a drastic turn when he must take on this pro bono case.

Both men meet at a threatening point in their lives, each desperately wanting to save themselves.

An integral piece of the puzzle is Gugu Mbuyaze (Kamogelo Ndawo), a 17-year-old girl with a potentially bright future and a big heart.

Gugu is connected to Zola, a light force in his life, but also a sign of how society keeps turning a blind eye.

Gugu and Zola's whirlwind romance is cut short by death, and a trial takes place to uncover hidden truths and expose the killer.

Enhle Mbali Mlotshwa plays Betty, fiancé to Jama - a prosecutor who wants to see justice done.

Thabo Malema plays the role of Lwazi Nzimande, an incredible civil litigator with a big heart.

He met his wife Ivy (Petronella Tshuma) at a law school - she is the whisper in his ear telling him to fight to get his name on the door of the Meyiwa and Associates law firm.

Dumisani Mbebe plays Solezwe Blose, who is passionate, charming, powerful and wise.

He dreams of becoming the President of South Africa but knows how much work that is going to require.

There are also appearances by Marcus Mabusela, Zikhona Sodlaka, Sparky Xulu, Cedric Fourie, Lebohang Motaung and Lihle Ngubo.

Good Men is produced by Ochre Moving Pictures by executive producer Stan Joseph and series producer Lufuno Nemungadi.

The directors are Portia Gumede, Christo Davids and Lufuno Nekhabambe. Gumede is the showrunner.

The head writer is Steven Pillemer, with a writing team including Duduzile Zamantungwa Mabaso, Sunni Faba, Christo Davids and Portia Gumede.

Music is composed by Tumisang Mokate.
