Murder in the Outback (also known as Joanna Lees: Murder in the Outback) is an Australian made-for-TV movie based on a true story and produced by Channel Ten and ITV Productions, about the murder of British backpacker Peter Falconio and the traumatic ordeal faced by his girlfriend Joanne Lees, first in the Australian Outback and then at the hands of the international press.
The film originally aired in Australia on Channel Ten on 18 March, 2007. It was written by Kate Brooke and directed by Tony Tilse, and is 100 minutes long.
Murder in the Outback premiered in South Africa on DStv's Hallmark channel on Friday 12 September 2008, at 21h00.

Synopsis
