Season 2
Fantasia was out of the game for a while. Two and a half years to be exact. And the rumour mill was working overtime: foreclosure, diva behavior, dropped by her label, fired by her management, dumped by The Color Purple.
It was an awesome burden to bear, especially for a 24 year old rags to riches success story who was singlehandedly supporting a family of six while struggling to rebuild her career.
But what a difference a year made.
Now Fantasia is back in the game - for real. Look out world. Fantasia is a Phoenix reborn and a force to be reckoned with. She's releasing her first new album in three years and she's determined not to blow it.
As she strives for international stardom she hopes this new musical effort will put her back on top of the charts where she belongs.
Her free-loading family is finally out of the house but the threat of everyone returning to her nest is always looming. When the last of Teeny's crazy schemes fail and her brother Rico ends up homeless, will they come knocking on her door again?
Fantasia still has her sights set on getting that GED. Will she pass the test or will she go to the back of the class? Tabloid rumours and internet gossip will push the family to question Fantasia's moral compass.
When she falls for the wrong man will she pay the price with her career? And with her estranged father back in her life comes some shocking news that may tear the family apart.
How will Fantasia handle it all? Like she always does. With a bit of grit, a dash of determination and a whole lot of prayer.
The series is executive produced by Fenton Bailey, Randy Barbato, Tom Campbell, and Jeremy Simmons for World of Wonder. Executive producers for VH1 are Jill Holmes, Kristen Kelly and Jeff Olde.
