Season 2
DCI Banks, based on the bestselling novels by Peter Robinson, returns for a second season, featuring carefully worked stories jam-packed with twists and turns, and intriguing and memorable characters.
The series stars Stephen Tompkinson as the tenacious and stubborn Chief Inspector Alan Banks. Andrea Lowe is the feisty and headstrong Detective Sergeant Annie Cabbot.
Together they investigate compelling contemporary crimes set in the fictional town of Eastvale in the Yorkshire countryside - a striking and contrasting backdrop to chilling and thrilling murder stories.
This season they are joined by the icily efficient inspector Helen Morton (Caroline Catz), who joins the team when Annie is due maternity leave. The three cases investigated this season are Strange Affair, Dry Bones That Dream and Innocent Graves.
In Strange Affair, Helen Morton joins Banks' team to investigate the murder of Jennifer Lewis, shot dead in her car, where Banks' address is also discovered on a scrap of paper.
In Dry Bones That Dream, Keith Rothwell - an unassuming accountant with an overbearing wife Mary - is dragged from the family home and his head blown off by a masked intruder. Nothing, however, is stolen.
In the final two-part episode, Innocent Graves, teenager Ellie Clayton is strangled on her way home from rehearsing a play with her drama group. A witness saw a blue car near the murder scene and next day a young man torches a blue car.
