Season 2
The South African Bar One Manhunt reality TV series blasts onto SABC3 once again in an attempt to find BAR ONE's everyday hero.
This is the greatest search in the country for the most rugged man; a man of integrity and character who has the energy and resilience to live up to life's expectations; someone who lives, works and plays 25/7.
To win this competition, the Bar One Man will have to prove that he has the strength, endurance and resolve to face full-frontal challenges to overcome stiff competition for a grand prize valued at over R1-million and the honour of becoming the next Bar One Man.
Johannesburg based salesman, Clint de Beer (34) beat his fellow contestants to become the first Bar One Man. To achieve this feat, he had to climb Africa's highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro, he skydived, made his own action movie, went off-roading, raced camels in Dubai, jumped into thin air above the Victoria Falls and went white-water rafting, among many other adventures.
He also had the opportunity to display his more gentlemanly side, by hosting his own cocktail party and helped to renovate a home for children with special needs, alongside the other 13 contenders.
The Bar One Manhunt reality TV series is open to all those who think they are cut out for it but have never had an opportunity to prove it before. This competition showcases everyday heroes.
The competition is open to males between the ages of 18 and 40. Contestants travel to locations in South Africa and other exotic destinations across the world including Nevada, The Great Wall of China and Zanzibar.
In an attempt to find Bar-Ones everyday hero, Episode 1 opened with 25 rugged and competitive contestants all out to win the ultimate prize:
R500,000 sponsored by Bar-One
Harley-Davidson V-Rod Muscle 2012 valued at R300,000
Mahindra XUV 500 valued at R300,000
Over the next 10 weeks all the thrilling dynamics unfold as the contestants are divided into teams and take on the hardcore challenges from death defying stunts to action packed activities, this series will have you addicted.
Sleepless nights, long 25-hour days, a whole bunch of testosterone, some hard workers and lazier ones, the mood swings will be evident. Being part of this TV show is a life changing experience and over the duration viewers will witness the contestants evolve, develop and forge alliances in their quest for the title.
Bar One is looking for real men who live life to the full and do not shy away from challenges. Other characteristics that are of great importance to the everyday hero is seeking sophistication and the ability for contestants to show their softer side, compassion and integrity.
This will be demonstrated in episodes 4 and 5 when their culinary and entertainment skills will be put to the test as well as a social development project task.
This year the producers have pulled out all the stops with adventures where the contestants will travel to exotic destinations around the globe.
From the thrilling navigational challenge in Zanzibar to Nevada USA where under the watchful eye of the tough Marilyn Grubler aka "The Boss Lady", owner of Sandy Valley Ranch, the contestants will be put through their paces.
An episode not to be missed is shot in China. This will be the final endurance and mental challenge where the contestants will be trained at the Shaolin Monastery in the Kunyu Mountain under the guidance of the Wushu Master.
The series is executive produced by Duncan Irvine, Kee-Leen Irvine and Ed Worster. Glenn Elliott is the series producer and Johan Naude the series director.
